"I hope we reach the Western Paradise soon," said the Tang Monk.

"This journey has been very dangerous."

Bajie nodded.
八戒点了点头。
"Those three demons tried to pickle me!"
“那三个恶魔想腌制我！”
Everybody laughed, even Bajie.
大家都笑了，连八戒也笑了。
"Wukong, what happened to those demons?" asked Wujing.
“悟空，那些恶魔怎么了？”吴京问道。
"Buddha took them away," said Wukong.
悟空说：“佛陀把他们带走了。”
"I'm sure they were punished."
“我肯定他们受到了惩罚。”
"Thank you again for saving us," said the Tang Monk.
“再次感谢你救了我们。”唐僧说道。
Wukong waved his hand.
悟空挥了挥手。
"It was nothing, Master.
“没什么，师父。
Buddha did most of the work."
佛祖做了大部分工作。"
The group felt a strong wind blow down from the mountains up ahead.
这群人感觉到一股强风从前面的山上吹下来。
A dark fog filled the sky and then disappeared.
黑雾弥漫天空，然后消失。
The Tang Monk was nervous.
唐僧很紧张。
"Wh-what caused that wind and fog?"
“这、这风、这雾是怎么来的？”
"Relax, Master," said Wukong.
“放松，师父，”悟空说。
"I'm sure it was something harmless—maybe some small demons.
“我敢肯定是无害的东西——也许是一些小恶魔。
I'll go check."
我去看看。”
The monkey walked up the road and around a bend.
猴子沿着路走了，绕过了一个弯道。
He heard laughter and looked up.
他听到笑声，抬起头来。
High above the road, a fat monster was sitting on the edge of a cliff.
在公路的高处，一个肥胖的怪物正坐在悬崖边上。
Several little demons sat next to the monster.
怪物旁边坐着几个小恶魔。
Wukong flew up to get a closer look.
悟空飞起来仔细看了看。
The fat monster appeared to be concentrating.
胖怪物似乎在集中注意力。
Suddenly . . . "Braap!" A burp as loud as thunder blew down the mountain.
突然 . . . "布拉普！”一个响亮如雷声的饱嗝从山上吹下。
The demons giggled and laughed.
恶魔们咯咯笑着。
"That was your best burp yet!" cried one demon.
“这是你打嗝打得最好的一次！”一个恶魔叫道。
The monster patted his belly.
怪物拍了拍自己的肚子。
"Yes, I'm proud of that one."
“是的，我很自豪。”
"Show us the fog again!" said another demon.
“再给我们看看雾！”另一个恶魔说。
"Coming right up!" said the monster.
“马上就来！”怪物说。
He covered one nostril with a finger, closed his eyes, and blew hard.
他用手指捂住一个鼻孔，闭上眼睛，用力吹。
Dark fog poured out of his other nostril.
黑雾从他另一个鼻孔涌出。
The demons clapped and cheered.
恶魔们鼓掌欢呼。
The monster smiled and then . . .
怪物笑了然后…
"Braap!" More wind blew down the mountain.
“布拉普！”更多的风从山上吹下来。
There was a roar of laughter.
一阵哄堂大笑。
One demon nearly fell off the cliff.
一个恶魔差点从悬崖上摔下来。
Wukong shook his head.
悟空摇了摇头。
"I'm not worried about these demons," he said to himself.
“我不担心这些恶魔，”他对自己说。
"They're disgusting but not dangerous."
“它们很恶心，但不危险。”
The monkey smiled.
猴子笑了。
"It does give me an idea though . . ."
“不过，这确实给了我一个想法 . . ."
Wukong returned to his companions, who were waiting alongside the road.
悟空回到他的同伴身边，他们在路边等着。
"Did you see any demons?" asked Wujing.
“你看到恶魔了吗？”吴京问道。
Wukong shook his head.
悟空摇了摇头。
"The road is safe."
“道路安全。”
Then the monkey pulled Bajie aside.
然后猴子把八戒拉到一边。
"Bajie," he whispered.
“八戒。”他低声说。
"There's a village up ahead.
“前面有一个村子。
The people there are preparing a huge feast.
那里的人们正在准备一场盛大的宴会。
I saw vegetables, noodles, tofu, steamed buns, and all sorts of delicious food.
我看到了蔬菜、面条、豆腐、馒头和各种美味的食物。
I thought maybe you'd like to go before us and start eating."
我想也许你想在我们之前开始吃饭。"
Bajie licked his lips.
八戒舔了舔嘴唇。
"Thank you for thinking of me, Wukong.
“谢谢你为我着想，悟空。
I am rather hungry right now."
我现在很饿。”
The pig turned to the Tang Monk.
猪转向唐僧。
"Master, I think I should go ahead and check the mountain too.
“师父，我想我也应该去山上看看。
I trust Wukong, of course.
我当然相信悟空。
But we must protect you, and I'd like to be extra safe."
但是我们必须保护你，我想更加安全。”
The Tang Monk smiled.
唐僧笑道。
"I'm impressed, Bajie.
“印象深刻，八戒。
Thank you for doing extra work."
谢谢你做了额外的工作。"
Bajie winked at Wukong and then headed up the road.
八姐对悟空使了个眼色，然后往路上走去。
"Braap!" The monster burped again, and another wind blew.
“布拉普！”怪物再次打了个饱嗝，又刮起了一阵风。
Then he blew more fog from one nostril.
然后他从一个鼻孔吹了更多的雾。
The demons laughed hysterically.
恶魔们歇斯底里地笑了。
Suddenly there was a loud rumbling sound, and everyone was silent.
突然传来一声轰隆隆的巨响，所有人都沉默了。
The monster patted his big belly.
怪物拍了拍自己的大肚子。
"I'm hungry."
“我饿了。”
The demons looked at one another.
恶魔们面面相觑。
"I'm hungry too," said one.
“我也饿了，”一个人说。
"It's probably time for lunch," said another.
“可能该吃午饭了，”另一个人说。
The monster stood up.
怪物站了起来。
"Let's go down to the road and find some people to eat!"
“我们下路去找人吃饭吧！”
The demons cheered and followed the monster down the mountain.
恶魔们欢呼雀跃，跟着怪物下山。
When they got to the road, they made themselves look like people.
当他们上路时，他们让自己看起来像人。
The monster chuckled.
怪物笑了。
"The next time someone comes along this road, it's lunchtime!"
“下一次有人沿着这条路来的时候，就是午饭时间了！”
For a few moments, they waited.
他们等了一会儿。
Then a large pig came around the bend.
然后一头大猪绕过弯道。
"Hello!" said Bajie, smiling.
“你好！”八戒笑着说道。
"I'm here for the feast!"
“我是来赴宴的！”
