Wukong plucked a peach from a branch and bit into it.
悟空从树枝上摘下一个桃子，咬了一口。
"This peach tastes wonderful!" he said.
“这个桃子味道好极了！”他说。
He ate another peach.
他又吃了一个桃子。
And then he ate another one.
然后他又吃了一个。
Each morning after that, Wukong secretly ate more and more peaches.
此后的每一天早上，悟空偷偷地吃了越来越多的桃子。
After eating he climbed into a tree and took a nap.
吃完后，他爬上一棵树，小睡了一会儿。
Time went by, and Wukong enjoyed his life in Heaven.
时间流逝，悟空享受着他在天堂的生活。
Meanwhile the queen of Heaven was busy.
与此同时，天堂的女王正忙着。
It was almost time for the annual Peach Festival.
一年一度的桃子节快到了。
She called for her maidens, Red Gown and Blue Gown.
她叫来了她的姑娘，红袍和蓝袍。
"How may we help you?" asked Red Gown.
“我们能为您做些什么？”红袍问道。
"The Peach Festival is tomorrow," said the queen.
“桃子节就在明天，”王后说。
"All the important gods and spirits in Heaven will be here.

I also invited the bodhisattva Guanyin, the goddess of mercy.

Go to the Peach Garden now, and pick plenty of ripe peaches."

Red Gown and Blue Gown went to the garden.
红袍和蓝袍去了花园。
As soon as they went through the gate, both maidens gasped.
一进大门，两个少女都倒吸一口凉气。
"Where are all the peaches?" cried Red Gown.
“桃子都在哪里？”红袍喊道。
"They're . . . gone!" cried Blue Gown.
“他们 . . . 走了！”蓝礼服喊道。
"This is terrible!" said Red Gown.
“这太可怕了！”红袍说。
"The queen will be angry!"
“王后会生气的！”
Wukong had been sleeping up on a branch.
悟空一直睡在树枝上。
When he heard the maidens, he woke up.
当他听到少女的声音时，他醒了。
"Who's making all this noise?"

he asked, jumping down to the ground.

"I'm trying to sleep!"

The maidens were startled.

"We're sorry to wake you, sir," said Red Gown.

"We came to pick peaches for the Peach Festival.
“我们是来摘桃子过桃子节的。
Do you know what happened to—"

"The Peach Festival?" said Wukong.
“桃子节？”悟空说。
His eyes lit up.
他眼睛一亮。
"I didn't hear about that."
“我没听说。”
"Oh, it's a wonderful festival," said Blue Gown.

"All the important gods and spirits will be there."
“所有重要的神灵都会在那里。”
"That sounds like fun," said Wukong.

"I'm sure I'm invited, right?"

Red Gown bit her lip.
红袍咬了咬嘴唇。
"Um, I don't think so."

Wukong was furious.
悟空大怒。
"The queen did not invite me?
“皇后没有邀请我吗？
I'm just as important as any other spirit or god!"

The maidens looked nervous.

"Sir," said Blue Gown. "Where are the peaches?"

"I ate them," said Wukong.
“我吃了它们，”悟空说。
"I ate every single one!
“我每一个都吃了！
And they were delicious!"

"Oh no!" cried Red Gown. "We must tell the queen."

"No, you're not going to tell the queen," said Wukong.
悟空说：“不，你不能告诉女王。”
He quickly said a spell.
他很快说了一句咒语。
Instantly Red Gown and Blue Gown fell asleep.
红袍和蓝袍立刻睡着了。
Wukong looked at all the empty peach trees.
悟空看着所有空荡荡的桃树。
He shook his head.
他摇了摇头。
"I'm in big trouble."
“我有大麻烦了。”
When Red Gown and Blue Gown woke up, they ran back to the Cloud Palace.
当红袍和蓝袍醒来后，他们跑回了云宫。
"Your Majesty!" cried Red Gown.
“陛下！”红袍喊道。
"Something terrible has happened!
“发生了可怕的事情！
Sun Wukong ate all the peaches!"
孙悟空把桃子都吃了！”
"He got very angry and cast a spell on us," added Blue Gown.
“他非常生气，对我们施了魔法，”蓝袍补充道。
"When we woke up, he was gone."
“当我们醒来时，他已经走了。”
The queen's eyes flashed with anger.
王后眼中闪过一抹愤怒。
She went to the royal court and told the Jade Emperor.
她去了朝廷，告诉了玉皇大帝。
"That horrible monkey!" cried the emperor.
“那只可怕的猴子！”皇帝喊道。
He turned to his captain.
他转向他的船长。
"Gather 100,000 soldiers.
“集结十万士兵。
I want Wukong arrested!"
我要抓悟空！”
The captain nodded and then left the palace.
队长点了点头，然后离开了宫殿。
Meanwhile the bodhisattva Guanyin left her home on Mount Potalaka in the South Sea.
与此同时，观音菩萨离开了她在南海布达拉卡山的家。
She soon arrived at the Cloud Palace.
很快，她就来到了云宫。
"I'm sorry to tell you this," said the queen.
“很抱歉告诉你这个，”王后说。
"But there won't be a peach festival."
“但不会有桃子节。”
"Why not?" asked Guanyin.
“为什么不呢？”观音问。
"A monkey named Sun Wukong ate all the peaches," said the emperor.
“一只叫孙悟空的猴子把所有的桃子都吃了，”皇帝说。
"I sent 100,000 soldiers to arrest him.
“我派了十万士兵去抓他。
They'll bring him back to Heaven soon."
他们很快就会把他带回天堂。”
Just then a messenger ran into the court.
就在这时，一个信使跑进了法庭。
"We need more soldiers, Your Majesty!"
“我们需要更多的士兵，陛下！”
"What?" cried the emperor.
“什么？”皇帝叫道。
"Wukong defeated the entire army," said the messenger.
“悟空打败了整个军队，”信使说。
The Jade Emperor put his head in his hands.
玉皇大帝双手抱头。
"We don't have any more soldiers!"
“我们没有士兵了！”
